SCALE/DIMENSION IMAGE IN DRAWING

Hi,

It seems strange for such a simple task, but it looks that I am missing something.

I have a set of drawings of different sizes, to which I would like to add an image. Since the drawings are different in size, the image needs to be scaled/dimensioned.

This is how I tried to solve the issue:

(1)

Manage -> Insert Object -> From file

Right click on the image, looking for scale/size options. NONE.

1st attempt 01.png

Double click on the image - just opens the image in editor.

(2)

Start new sketch.

"Insert an image file into a sketch" : Image is grayed out.

2nd attempt 01.png

(3)

Created AutoCAD drawing, trying to insert through

Manage -> Insert Object -> From file

Or

Manage -> Insert Object -> Create New -> AutoCAD Drawing

Getting the same error:

3nd attempt 01.png

(4)

Created new Inventor part, created sketch

"Insert an image file into a sketch"

Added dimensions.

4th attempt 01.png

Went back to the initial drawing, Place Views -> Base -> ...Part

Nothing appears, even though all items are checked as "Visible"

5th attempt 01.png

Any ideas?

Many thanks!

Right click on Sketch Symbols.

Select Define New Symbol.

Place you image.

Sketch a line over image.

Dimension the line to desired size.

Drag corner of image to scale to match the dimensioned line.

Delete the line.

Save the Sketch Symbol.

Actually, I cannot scale it either, so it is not really a solution..

Thank you,

The problem is that the picture snaps to top left corner only, the opposite corner does not snap to line..

But I am half way there, thank you!
