RIP and Flat Pattern Issues

Hi

I am trying to create a rip and do a flat pattern of a loft and cut.

Neither rip or flat pattern is achievable.

Can anyone see what or where the problem actually lies?

The model has compound curvature, so none of the sheet metal flattening functions will work.

To flatten it though, you can use the "Unwrap" feature (it's in with Extrude, Revolve etc)

Thanks alot. That really helped. I was also able to create a dxf file however is it possible to get the complete surface as a one complete unwrap rather than half a view?

"One complete unwrap"?  Not sure how that would look since it has to be split somewhere - otherwise it won't unwrap.

Other options:

Mirror the generated surface.

Mirror the DXF.

You could create a small cut somewhere and then unwrap it as a 'complete unwrap' - but for a complex closed shape, I'm not sure the result would be meaningful or usable.
