A student (I'm a PLTW teacher) went to turn his computer around to show something to another student, and in the process the ribbon disappeared. The only thing showing is the very top quick access bar. I have clicked around and not found any way to get the ribbon back.
The tabs at the top with sketch, view, etc. are not there.
How will I get the ribbon to show again? I had to give the student a different computer to use, but his files are all on the other one.
Thanks
Keever

Can you please attach an image showing how the screen looks?
Is it like this.. (if so press the button shown by the red arrow)
or maybe like this.. (if so it has simply been undocked and moved on the screen)
Funny the link is also a teacher with issues.. Note to teachers: Don't forget to "teach" as well as "learn" how the user interface of the program can be modified/moved,etc... in addition to how to use the program..
The second image is the problem. But it's not undocked. I searched. I'm going to send the computer to IT so they can change the registry.
Thanks!
Post some screen shots of what you do see.
File New...
Windows Snipping Tool.
Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions.
Since we have now entered our 5 weeks of end-of-year-testing-the-kids-to-death time, meaning our IT person is busy with getting kids functional computers for the tests, I just handed the kid another student's computer and had him transfer his files from one to another. The computer will be re-imaged over the summer, and I'm betting that will fix the problem.
They gave me the admin password for computers from a different school, but not my school, so I can't get in and fix the registry myself.

No need to do any of that stuff. Simply download the Inventor reset utility (link is in my signature) and reset that version of Inventor for that account.
