Ribbon cable not lining up with end connector

I'm adding a ribbon cable between a board mounted IDC header and a D-SUB connector. It'll be a higher conductor ribbon than what's show but any higher will fail to render.

It looks like the problem is with the end connector..for some reason it's not even close to the position or angle of the pin array? I tried adding points to reign it back in but that end point is really messed up.

Is this a problem with that end connector definition or a problem with the ribbon route?

Hi! I have seen this behavior before. It is usually due to wrong pin direction defined on the connector, leading to undesirable fold. If possible, please share the files here so forum experts can help take a look.

Many thanks!

@johnsonshiue the .zip file from Pack and Go is attached.

Here's some screen shots, pin array and the connector properties..I thought I had things going the right directions?

@johnsonshiue were you able to confirm from the files that the wrong direction was defined?

@Anonymous , I am looking into the result, and it should be related to the fold created in ribbon cable. If you only create the ribbon cable without fold, it looks that the direction of end connector is correct. You could add the point in the path and create the fold based on your requirement. Please have a try.

The direction you define in harness part is correct. The key factor here is that we have to create the fold with the proper setting here.

Hope it helpful for you. Please see the attached image. For sure we still have some space to make the fold function more robust here.

Thanks,
