I have a channel generated in Frame Generator. Viewed end on the channel points right. I have different extruded cut-outs each end that I want to keep but I want the channel to reverse direction and point left.
"Edit with Frame Generator" doesn't give me that option.
"Change" has no flip option either.
Is there a way to simply flip the handing on a member?
I'm not 100% sure what you are looking for. Can you clarify...

There is no "mirror" function inside FG. About the only thing I see that you can do is Increase the rotation direction by 180°, then redo the cuts you made. If the cuts were done as FG Features (Trim to Frame, Trim/Extend, Miter... etc) then they would be correct after its rotated, but since you did those as features.... probably will have to redo them.
Thanks for the replies.
As I suspect it can't be done unless I redo the end cuts.
It should be part of the edit function in frame generator to reverse the frame, the function is there to chose the member handing when you first define the member.
I wanted to simply flip the flange direction from picture 1 to picture 2

So go here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-ideas/idb-p/v1232/tab/most-recent and make a new Inventor idea (so others can vote on it).. But it doesn't mean it gets implemented..
One more thing.. Frame Gen hasn't been changed or majorly changed in years..
Update: If you do make an idea submission.. Paste the link here so if others find your posting (and need this requirement) they can go and vote for it.

This is something that annoys me greatly too, and I think it is a problem that should be addressed.
When you Place a Frame Generator component there is a radio button for "Mirror Frame Member"
Problem is that when you go to edit a Frame Member this button is not there!
Perhaps an oversight by Autodesk?
Maybe it's difficult for them in the back end coding?
Either way, it would be awesome if they could fix this...
@Anonymous
As I stated earlier.. FG interface hasn't really changed in years and if its important to you... Submit an idea for it (using the link above). If you just say I think it would be nice to have it and don't create an idea.. Its not going anywhere.. But at the same time just because you created an idea doesn't mean its getting implemented.

I think that you will find the "Mirror Member" on creation allows for the placement of a second member upon placement. When you are creating/place items such as built-up beams. A good example would be two C-Chanels place with their legs to each other to form a box beam or two C-Chanels placed legs away from each other to create a I-Beam.
You would still have to End-Treatment each beam individually on it's own.
As Mark posted, start a post on the "Ideas" forum and post the link here. ADSK goes through the "Ideas" section and and items that get a high level of "Likes" do eventually make it into Inventor.
Link to submitted idea. Vote if you feel this is worthwhile.
