Here's a 4 volume set of books you can get that has a myriad of 'Mechanisms' you can use for ideas:

Ingenius Mechanisms for Designers and Inventors by Industrial Press

I've used these many times over the years.

However, YouTube seems to be the 'go-to tool' these days for basic concepts!
