Resolve Model State

Hi,

My assembly can't find a model state and asks to resolve the missing model state, my only option is to replace it with another one. The subassembly number is 261839-8. 261839 is the root subassembly number and -8 represents the model state.

However, the inventor says it's looking for this model state in another file 258728 (261839 was copy designed from 258728).

How do I get it to correct the path?

Hi George,

I believe the error comes up when the subcomponent Model State that is referenced by current level Model State, is no longer available. If you redirect it to a different Model State or delete the Model State, such warning should be gone. Otherwise, it will be a bug. Please share the files in zip here. I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

@george0621

Hi, can you tell us what version of Inventor the file is in so users will know before they open it?  Thank you!

Hi Johnson,

Unfortunately I am not able to share those files due to confidentiality. I will instead pursue this internally with our Autodesk partner. I can post an update if the issue is resolved.

Best regards,

George

Hi Johnson,

It turns out the issue was related to the application version that was used to create the files. After updating and migrating the files to the newer version, the issue was resolved.

Many thanks!

George
