Replace flat face with slightly bended freeform face

Hi there!

I am trying to replace the top face of an .ipt solid by a slightly benden freeform face but I get the following messages when using the replace face command:

Create Replace Face Feature Failed
part_V3.ipt: Errors occurred during update
Replace Face4: Could not build this Replace Face
Replace Face was not able to find a valid solution. Try a different or extended new face selection.
The attempted operation did not produce a meaningful result. Try with different inputs.

the problem is not clear in the doctor either.

Does the freeform face needs to be larger than the existing face maybe? Because I generate the freeform face using the convert function in the create freeform tab and thus it is not larger due to the meshpatern.

I added the part as an attachment.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Jordi

Yes.  Drag the red End of Part marker above the Replace Face.

Extend the Surface boundaries (it might be easiest if you temporarily turn off the Visibility of the solid body).

Now drag your red EOP back down below Replace Face and it will update.

Now turn off the Visibility of the surface.

It didn't need to be bigger - but at least as big.  There was probably some microscopic location where it didn't quite cap the replacement face.  Simply Extending the surface insured that it will fully cap the new face.

Thank you JDMather!
This was indeed the problem, extending the surface resolved the issue.
kind regards!
