hello folks

I'm rendering via Inventor studio

For getting 30 sec video (600*800) i need to stay around 2 hours!

Is it usual with this CPU? or i need to do sth to being faster.

CPU i7 2.6~3.6

Graphic Geforce GTX 960 4G

RAM 8G

Hi! You did not mention what Inventor release you are using. Regardless, 8GB RAM is probably bare minimum. More than likely, Inventor has to use swap memory (hard drive memory) to perform any compute-heavy operation. Could you add more RAM?

Many thanks!

What settings are you using for the render?

Can you attach your file here?

@johnsonshiue I'm using Inventor 2018 pro.

I donno how to improve the RAM.i didn't thought RAM would be important in this case.

@JDMather 10 sec rotate 360 degree camera+5 sec .25 unit rotate again+Fade =15 sec

change camera:zoom in + rotate .25 unit + zoom out+Fade=15 sec

i defined light style with image too.

hummm nothing else!

unfortunately my render didn't finished yetSmiley Sad

Those are not the parameters that I was interested in influencing the time to Render.

In particular the Frame Rate and the Render Duration (time or iterations per slide) are the parameters that I would examine if you had attached your file here.

Sorry for late response

The parameters are default(exactly like you)

I'm using Inventor 2018.2 right now

the rendering time still isn't normal

for example for this part 10 sec rendering with animating camera it was 31 minutes!!

Two thirds of your animation does nothing?

Why do you have animation set to run for 30 seconds when there are only 10 seconds of motion?

Edit: Oops, let me do some more checking - I see that you have set to record only the first 10 seconds.

Oh wait a minute.  You left it on 32 iterations per frame.

In my previous response I starred the Total Render Time?

What happens if you reduce that time?

Set it to 10 minutes.

How long does it take to Render?

Set it to 5 minutes.

How long does it take to Render?

Unless you have an absolute beast of a PC, then rendering in Inventor is pretty much worthless....Sadly

Hi! I am not sure what prompts your comment. It sounds like you have trouble performing rendering operation in Inventor. Could you elaborate it? How much system RAM (and graphics RAM) do you have? What Inventor release are you on?

Many thanks!

It's taking over 12 hours to render a 30 second camera turntable operation. I've given up. I'll use a screen capture software. That takes err well 30 seconds.

I would say a 10 second video rendered in 30 mins is pretty good.

I've done quite a lot of renders in studio recently and it does just take ages.

Couple of things you can do.

Specify a render time. Set if off on Friday at home time and stick 48 hours in the render time. This way you guarantee you have the render by Monday, would be much shorter in practise.

Set render quality to 'draft.' I always use draft and find I get better results when using transparency.

Render time will vary massively depending on the number of components in the assembly. A 12 second video of an entire factory line was taking 2 days in draft mode.

It's sometimes a good idea to get your IT department to set up a spare PC in the corner purely for renders if you're going to do a lot.
