Removing a Material and/or Appearance from the Library

I'm trying to remove the association of my Default Appearance from my Nylon material.

I've deleted Nylon from my Material Library but the Default Appearance still says it's used in Nylon.

Go to those material and change their appearance to something else.

I deleted the Material.
I'll try making it again and see if it will overwrite.
