Removes Associativity when Isolating two components in Assembly

Whenever I select two components in Assembly section and isolate them the message pops up that it will remove associativity. Why is that?

Isolate (in or outside of a section) causes the visibility of non-selected components to be unchecked, so if you had associated View Reps on those subcomponents, now you are messing with the linkage between a top-level assembly View Rep and a subcomponent View Rep. Inventor asks you then to be sure about breaking that norm when you isolate.

It link view rep from assembly to sub-assembly to parts.

So changing view rep in top assembly will change linked view for child.

Either you are working on the wrong view rep or it wasn't setup properly.
