We are getting new diameter symbol in the dual dimensions placed in alternate dimensions.

We are facing this issue only in latest inventor releases, after 2014 iteration

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Sai,

I could be wrong but I don't think there is an option to allow it to happen: primary unit has diameter symbol but alternate unit does not have it. What you could do is to hide the diameter symbol and then edit the dimension and add a diameter symbol in front of the dimension value.

To hide the diameter symbol, you can go to Standard and Styles Editor -> find the active Dimension Style -> Options -> Diameter Dimension -> select the second radio button from the left -> Ok.

Many thanks!

Hi john,

Thanks for your suggestion,I have been using the same tweak

But i am facing the same issue in the latest service pack of 2016.

Earlier in 2014 i wasn't facing this issue.

Can you let me any other way round as a permanent fix

Many thanks

Hi Sai,

Indeed, like you mentioned the behavior has been changed in 2016. In 2015 and earlier, diameter symbol only appears in primary unit, not the alternate unit. It was actually a bug, because if the diameter symbol needs to be shown, they need to be available in both units (standard behavior). If they are not needed, they both need to be hidden. So, 2015 and earlier behaviors are wrong. 2016 behavior is correct. Below is a related discussion.

Many thanks!

vp00485110, Thanks for the reply, I have tried your method. But, the option as you mentioned is grayed out See the attached file. We will be getting this option only for features like Hole Callout etc, I think that diameter symbol ø should be present in both the dimensions. As already said it was a bug earlier, which was fixed in latest releases Correct me if I am wrong. Many thanks
