Rectangular Nesting in Nesting utility

Is there any option to perform rectangular nesting in Nesting utility?  Please guide for the same.

Also, Is there any option to select only the outer profile of the part and not to include perforations in the part in the calculation of efficiency?

Hello @Anonymous ,

Inventor Nesting only supports True-shape Nesting.

Yes, we do provide both efficiency values for the nested results - with and without holes.

  1. Efficiency (or True Efficiency) - Based on area of part shapes. Holes/cutouts gets subtracted. If the nest includes parts with holes, this value will be lower than the Nesting Efficiency
  2. Nesting Efficiency - This ignores any holes/cutouts from efficiency calculation. Hence, this number is equal to or greater than True Efficiency.

Our more advanced Nesting solution - Autodesk TruNest - does include Rectangular Nesting as well as ability to place a rectangular bounding box around shapes when calculating efficiencies.
