Rearranging component position in the assembly tree

Hello all,

I found this strange behaviour in the assembly tree recently: when I rearrange the parts, only parts can be moved (one or more), or only patterned parts (one or more), but not mixed: a part and a component pattern cannot be moved in one time, so when I want to move a folder that contains parts and patterns, too, that cannot be repositioned.

I use Inventor 2026.1, Build: 233

I think it's a new feature, since I have folders that contain arranged next to each other in my assembly, could someone check it in a different version?

Thank you for your help, have a nice day,

Peter

I installed the latest update: it works the same in Inventor 2026.1.1, too.

It has always worked that way.

Someone always complains.

They know someone will complain.

It will probably always work that way.

So, when you get done dragging, you can have a big block of all the loose parts, another with all of the patterns, one with folders of only parts, folders of only patterns and then all the folders with parts and patterns will be left clustered together by themselves. If that isn't what you want ... welcome to Inventor.
