Read/Write content center folder is not showing in my server console

Hi Folks,

I have difficulty to find my content center library (Autodesk Inventor 2015) recently created in my server console. The address that my default content center is below:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Content Center\Libraries\

I checked if my folder setting is set for showing hidden files, and it was already checked to show the hidden files. So I don't understand why I can't see this library that created in this folder. I am able to see my library when I go directly and open the editor in Inventor 2015. Is there any folder in server console that this library might be saved?

Hello, first off let's clear things up. There are actually two locations for a complete Content Center setup, one to hold the library files and another to hold Content Center parts that have actually been created and used in an assembly somewhere. The path you provided is typically where you would find the library files. The file extensions there are usually *.idcl and you will not find actual Content Center part files here. Go into Tools > Application Options and click on the File tab. Note the path found under "Default Content Center files" and that is where you should find actual CC part files. HTH

Welcome to the community...

I'm a little confused..   You stated your libraries were installed on a server but you are looking at your hard drive for them.  Are you using Vault?  Please clarify... 

Also in Application Optoins/Content Center (tab) what is the setting, Desktop or Vault server...

Check this path in your project file, this is where parts placed from the content center will be stored.

Hi Mark,

I am going to use the Vault later on but I have to first figure out how I can link my read/write library. I found it before in my server console "Hard drive" (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Content Center\Libraries\) as I was using Inventor before, but for some reason it is not there any more. I know for sure they all have the .idcl extension with their name in front of them but my read/write content center is not part of them.

I am able to see my read/write content center when I go editor but not in hard drive (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Content Center\Libraries\).

The Application Optoins/Content Center is set to Desktop with this address (C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Content Center\Libraries\).

So it sounds like the out of box content center libraries are there, is that correct?   Meaning you are only missing your custom read/write library...   Can you take a screen shot showing your custom read/write library in the content center editor.   Meaning show us the list that appears in the library view pull-down and highlight your custom read/write library.   For example..  The blue dashed arrow shows my custom read/write library (although blurred out).

In addition take a screen shot showing your current project/config content center..

Hover your cursor to the content center files option below the folder option in projects you will get the location of your parts located in your content center library
