Radeon pro 5600M compatibility

Good morning,

I’m about to buy a 16 inch MacBook Pro with Radeon Pro 5600M graphic card (8 GB HBM2 memory and a DirectX 12), i did not found this card in the certified hardware, so may I have issues while running Inventor via Bootcamp?

Thank you

Hi @Anonymous,

The Radeon Pro 5600m will more than likely be fine - just because the hardware isn't listed doesn't mean it won't work.

For instance, I run an RTX 2070 and that's not certified but it works more than fine and also reliably - NVIDIA won't allow Geforce to be listed as certified - If you want more details watch Neil's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT6YwF7NUSk.

Whilst that was about NVIDIA it wouldn't surprise me AMD has a similar policy.

I am speculating here but since the Radeon 5000m series is for Apple and MacOS cannot run Inventor natively so it doesn't make sense to test the hardware in Inventor.
