Punch Tool creation help

Hello People,

 

I'm new to inventor and i am trying to learn it myself, but i need help with something. I am trying to make a punch tool in inventor, I need to cut out slots in a bended sheet metal part. I made The slot part in a .ipt file and made it into a Ifeature punch tool, but when i try to punch it in de folded sheet part it doesn't cut it. what am i doing wrong?Inventor1.jpgInventor2.jpg

at every point there has to be a slot, following the bend down to a lenght of 25mm with a radius of 5mm at both ends

Your part can be modeled much more easily, and I suspect that your dimensions are not what you really intended.

Thnx for the drawing!

 

I´m using inventor now for like 2 weeks, so I´m still learning a lot about the program, The bending machine that we want to bend it on kan bend sheetmetal up to 1000 wide en 12000mm in lenght, so we wanted to huse the whole 1000mm so thats why the dimensions are a bit weird, but is is more convenient to get some easier measurements. Still working on it.

 

how is it easier to make this drawing? I used the flange tool in the sheet metal tab. And how to make a punch is still a mystery for me
