Projecting a sketch from a section view

I have a part that I am making a profile gauge for. The part has 9 bends and this has sections at multiple angles. I need to make the part labeled '5' match the profile of the mating item. I am attempting to make a sketch onto the face of part '5' of the section view. However, I am unable to project the geometry of the mating part? Any suggestions as to how I can achieve my goal?

A section view like this, in an Inventor part or assembly, is a cosmetic feature.  It is only intended for viewing what is inside of or behind other objects.  It does not create any geometry that can be projected into a sketch.  You would have to exit the section view, and try to project the actual part edges, or planar surfaces that you need for your new sketch.

Project Cut Edges.

Attach your file here if you can't figure it out.

I am providing only the minimum information here as the actual process is dependent in variation on the actual geometry.  (Part/Assembly)
