Is it possible to export a BOM to my excel template without using VBA

HI all

I want to know if it is possible to export  a inventor 2020 asm-BOM to my own Excel template.

On my Excel BOM i want a header, company LOGO etc. and it would me nice if i had a template the BOM export could undetstand

Not sure If you can use directly a template, but you can use iLogic to write cells, columns, in a desidered preformatted excel file

Hi! I believe it is doable. There is an Export button in BOM dialog and you can select a template. Did you try it? Did it work for you?

@Anonymous ,

 

Like @johnsonshiue mentioned it is possible, but only in inventor R2022.1. If you work with a R2020 then there is no option to use a template . A workaround could be export your partlist, for years there is a option to export to excel with a template (hit the options button in the file dialog).

Hi Matteo,

 

This is not a new workflow. It has been there for 10 years at least. It isn't well-known but our enterprise customers leverage it heavily. To be fair, we have fair share of issues in this particular workflow. Sometimes, the cell format has been changed or the template items are not honored properly. Or, thumbnails are not properly scaled due to DPI incompatibility.
