Problem with tweaks AFTER a Snapshot was created in IPN-INV 2023

On several big IPN files tweaks were created after the Snapshot was created. This inadvertent sequence causes the following problem:

  • There is no Story Board & no green circle in the Snapshot. Tweaks & edits are possible in the IPN but they don't show up in the IDW view since there is no Snapshot arrow to drag in the Storyboard & no green circle to update.
  • If you click Finish Edit View, many of the tweaks vanish & some of the parts are now invisible.

I've learned to make Snapshot after tweaks for other files but I've got a number of IPN/IDW files that suffer from the above scenario.  I'm surprised I haven't found others in the Forum with this situation.

Is there a way to somehow add a Storyboard & get the Snapshot view update green circle in this situation using the existing Snapshot? Or another workaround?

See if the reply by Joshua on this other post solves your problem too:

Galaxybane,

I had already read the previous post but it did not help me with this situation. If you read it the post says how to work with the Storyboard. My problem is that I do not see a Storyboard & cannot find a way to create one short of deleting & remaking the Snapshot which is what I'm trying to avoid.

You're obviously not using "Product Design Suite Ultimate 2015" as your signature would have us believe...

Anyway, I think the solution is simply to turn on the Storyboards Panel under the View menu:

Hi Gary,

The behavior sounds like a corruption to me. If possible, please share the files in zip with me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand the tweak behavior better.

Many thanks!

Sam,

Sorry for delay, work sometimes gets in the way.

I did include "-INV 2023" in the post header. But I admit I have not been able to figure out how to update my old signature on the Forum & forgot about it.

Anyway, so, I experimented & discovered that clicking on Finish Edit View brings back the Storyboard & that most of the tweaks I thought disappeared were there but much later into the time line...lot of scrolling to get there.
Not sure why subsequent tweaks were so far in time on the Storyboard but now I know what to do.

I was able to reconstruct the scene with only a few additional tweaks.

Thanks for the response.

Hi Johnson,

I figured it out. I don't think the file was corrupted.

See my post to Sam for details.

Thank you.
