Problem inserting iFeatures

Hi!

I am having difficulty creating the perfect iFeature. I tried a few different options but it's never working as I need it to. Am I missing constraints or dimensions in my sketch to make if work properly? Or am I forgetting required position geometry to make it work? I just don't know.

I need this iFeature to adapt to various lengths for ends cut outs and hole patterns. While other holes need to be at mid point either automatically or by selecting the insertion point which ever is easier to accomplish in the iFeature.

Does anyone have any idea on how I need to approach this ifeature extraction? See attached my workfile, unfortunately I was not able to include my ifeature file.

Hi! iFeature does not support sketch block. You will need to edit the sketch and explode the sketch block. What features do you want to extract? Starting from the Sweep feature?

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

No I want to extract starting at Cut ends thru the end (6 features) but each time I insert my extraction on a part like it without the machining, the iFeature is not located exactly like on my original work file. The sketches used are more than often flipped resulting in a fail attempt. I extract using the wire end points as reference and planes. I want to avoid selecting faces/edges on the body.

Hi Josee,

iFeature placement does not have the ability to snap to a particular location as a sheet metal punch tool does. After insertion, you need to edit the sketch and constrain the sketch afterwards.

Many thanks!
