Problem extruding to offset surface

Is there a way to select an offset surface to cut/extrude into the halves of a multi-body molded part?

Inventor will not let me select the offset surface I created from the outer face.

I want the extrude (for material relief) to conform to the outside shape of the part but offset by the wall thickness (.075").

The attached part has the EOP marker located at the extrude feature just below the offset surface

The extrude cut is supposed to cut the part in the opposite direction. Looks like Kacper in the next post was able to do it somehow as seen in his video.

My problem was that I didn't cycle through the selections. So I mistakenly thought Inventor was not allowing me to select the surface.

Thanks for the video proof it could be done!
