Position Representations of Robotic Arm

Hi,

I've been going through the process of trying to animate a 6-DoF robotic arm for the past few days but I can't seem to get the process right. The goal was to make the end effector of my arm follow the edges of the face of a cube, and I've kept running into roadblocks regarding the positioning of the arm's rotators. Now my idea was to instead use "Position Representations" & setting my end effector on the vertices of my cube, but upon entering the Inventor Studio nothing seems to be moving, despite using the "Animate PRs" menu.

Thank you in advance !

Hey NM,

with just posting the .iam file, no one can help here because we can't open the file. Inventor need all the part files to open the assembly.

Maybe you load up a zip including all parts or better some screenshots with explanations. 😉 teile.jpg

Hi Marcus! Noob mistake on my part. I'll include a .zip file of my entire project now. I think my problems may stem from my assigned constraints, but I still can't quite figure out where to start investigating from.

Thank you in advance !

This is still missing the "cubor" part.

My bad ! I've included it now below.

You have only linked the parts together. This does not work because they are static fixed.

You have to use constrains. Then your robot gets the envelope you want and moves the way you want it to.

Find the fixed .iam in the attachment. I try to add an screencast with an example for a constraint if you want to.

But may be you can figure it out with the uploaded file. 🙂

I would use Environments>Dynamic Simulation for this > you can then Publish to Studio if desired...

But Dynamic Simulation is an advanced topic...  ...I notice that many (all?) have your parts have modeling issues that I would not expect to see at this level.
