Points in 3D sketch - Precise Input

Hello guys,

I’ll shortly describe my situation first and then I’ll ask
I wanted design a steel truss based on coordinates. I imported points from excel sheet into my 3D sketch workspace and the first thing that bothered me was that, every points were undefined. I couldn’t find anywhere the “table” or something where the points parameters are identified. There were no possibilities to control the points position by the coordinates.
I left this solution and I tried put and define my points by “precise input” – see Att.1

And again, the points are undefined and I can’t manage them, because in parameters the points coordinates doesn’t exist. See Att.2

My question. How can I put points into 3D sketch and then keep control for them by xyz coordinates?

Have you allready tryed the Options to connect the points with a line?

Also a tip.

You can better use this add-in Point Linker because when you update the excel list you can update the points within Inventor.

Thank you for your fast answer. I downloaded the Point-linker and the option "update" is exactly what I wanted but my 3D sketch and points are still undefined. Can I do something with that?

No you can't have a number or something at the points but you can also connect the points with a line or spline.
