Placing Sheet Metal Stud

Hello, does anyone know if there is any documentation on how to place a sheet metal stud like a PEM?

I can't find anything anywhere, I can't work out why it wouldn't be an option as a bolt when making a Bolted Connection.

Just to be clear, the stud is inserted into a sheet metal part, through another part with a nut on the end.

Hello @Anonymous are wondering why it isn't included in the bolted connection options?

Content Center

About Bolted Connection Component Generator

You might have to author your own content center part, are you familiar with how to accomplish that?

To Publish a Part or iPart to a Content Center Library

About Conduit Parts and Fittings in Content Center

To Author Parts or iParts

Author custom connectors

If it is a sheet metal punch feature you're looking for to make the indentations for the stud:

Publish a feature to Content Center

And one just for fun:

Publish structural shapes to Content Center

If you have an example you want to share that would be helpful.

Hello @Anonymous

I use PEMs at work all the time, using them to hold sheet metal together. I just measure and model the PEM, then place it where i want in the Assembly.

I have had no problems doing it this way.

Thomas.

They are already available in the content library, I would have thought they should be as easy to place as a bolt, a PEM stud is essentially the same as a bolt, just inserted with a machine.

@Anonymous were you able to get the stud placed? Are you wanting it to make a hole and place the stud at the same time like with Bolted Connection?

The links previously provided should point you in the right direction, if you can clarify where you are struggling that would be helpful in getting you going.
