Placing parts to only one view

I wanted to know if it was possible to place parts so that they are only visible on the currently selected view. I currently have an assembly with 5-6 views and as I place parts I have to go to the other views to make them invisible.

At the assembly, create a new view representation without the parts you wish to omit. Then, at the drawing, place all views using this view representation (only need to set once at the base view, as the rest should follow that), selecting the Default or Master only for those view(s) where you wish to show the hidden component(s).

You can use design views. Expand representations > right-click View: master > New. Give it a name and turn off the stuff you dont want to see, then lock it. If you dont lock it, then anything new will appear in it.

Hope that helps.

I would also point out it is possible to change the view of individual up to and including removing them from the view by right clicking on the part in the browser and changing its appearance there.

I sometimes change to a light phantom line or suppress the part entirely in some views and find this sort of granular control extremely helpful!
