Dears,
for all users like me, I think that it is very annoying when you try to place a constraint, you realize after 1 second that what you are doing is wrong, but Inventor try to satisfy you by applying the constraint anyway. The problem is that Inventor takes minutes to make something that you know is wrong (especially with "complex" assemblies). If you try to cancel operation with "Esc" the system does not answer, then it crashes 90% of times.
Again, sometimes you put a simple constraint (ie. angularity 0°between 2 faces when you put a part into an assembly), and the software takes too much to understand it. You can see in the low bar how many "operations" try to do…
Is there a way to avoid this waste of time? Don't you think that an improvement is necessary? Please note that I have a very good PC.
Thanks for your comments!

Go to the Manage tab ... click the Rebuild All
Do you have any issues / Red Cross enabled?
Thanks @mdavis22569.
In this specific case I have a red cross (for a direct edit for invalid axis/origin, but I don't want to fix it to avoid other connected problems). However, in general I'm careful (no red cross). Nevertheless, I always note these issues (too slow/ high "operations" to put a constraint). I never tried the "Rebuild all" command, I'll try and let you know.
Thanks again for your quick answer.

In my experience - ignoring unresolved issues only gets more painful.
At some point you will likely have to give in and resolve the issue(s).
This will slow you down ....
That's my FIRST go to check every time I see or hear there is this issue.
As myself and JD have mentioned you'll likely will need to resolve this as it's checking everything as it makes the constraint
