Hi @bespel,

This icon in my drawings means its grounded, which means you cannot move the object from his given position.

You can fix this with clicking on the part with the right mouse button en deselect the 'Grounded' function.

@christof.gosselin Views on an idw don't have a "grounded" option, so i don't think that's what's going on here.

I do agree that it's the same icon that is normally used for grounded objects.

@bespel Which version of Inventor?

I never saw that icon before but with a little testing in IV2021 i got a detail view "attached" to some selected geometry (point) and then this icon appeared next to the detail view:

In order to remove that paperclip i can right-click on the originating detail boundary and select "detach" from the popup menu.

Does that work for you?

Use the Attach command to associate detail view definitions with the parent view in the drawing environment. If the dimensions or positional relationships of the parent view geometry are altered, the attached view definition remains attached to and moves with the user-specified attachment vertex.

The view definition maintains its relative position to the parent view. A pin symbol appears next to each attached view or symbol in the browser.

@bespel this is done on the drawing view, not in the browser. does that make a difference in the options provided?

The page @christof.gosselin found is exactly the behavior i found as well, the icon may have changed between versions.
