Parts order listing parts list

Hello, I have question:

I have a idw file. I like to hide some of parts on the drawing while keeping the i-property informations on the parts list. Not sure if this is possible or not?

Thank you for suggestions.

You could create a level of details (LOD) in your assembly and suppress these parts you don't want to show.  LODs do not impact BOM or parts list.

You should be able to open/edit the parts list in the IDW, RMB on the line and deselect the "Visible".

Never a good idea to over-ride items in the drawing, it may come back later to bit you especially if someone else ends up working with the drawing.

More than one way to do this, as posted.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

The proper (recommended) way to accomplish this is via "view representations"

They are created in the assembly file.

See the help here for more information.

@inventor

Please try using view reps instead of LODs...

LODs were designed to be a memory management tool in that you could unload suppressed components from memory to allow you to work on assembly models faster (assuming you suppressed all instances of a part)..

View reps are intended to control visibility of parts in assemblies and have that visibility state accessible to a drawing.

While LOD's do work for what you want and are very similar to LOD's.. they might not be the best tool..

View reps have the added benefit of allowing you to create a parts list filter to only show the visible parts in a parts list..

You cannot do that with LOD's..

I started out using LOD's but later learned it wasn't the best choice and had to convert all my LOD's over to view reps..

Yes do what mcgyvr says..  View Rep over LODs..

I was working on a test workflow with LODs and had that on my brain when I responded...  Smiley Mad
