Parts in assemblys do not move after 2023 update.

hello al,

Since we done the 2023 update last week we are not able to drag components in assemblys when the are only constraind in one direction.

Is there any way this can be fixed?

One assembly - or all assemblies?

Can you post (small) a sample?

I'm not avoiding the question, just curious because I've been running 2023 since the day it came out (I just like new shiny things) - and it is behaving perfectly.

Hi, this is a known issue in 2023.0. It will be fixed on 2023.0.1

Internally tracked as INVGEN-61009.

I believe this is being fast tracked but I don't have a release date.

I guess I'm just lucky.  Is there a particular scenario that causes the problem @James_Willo ?

When it was originally found it was thought to be specific to assemblies that include patterns, but I'm not sure if it is more widespread than that.

I'm glad it's not just me. I thought I was loosing my mind.

"It's only flush with two origin planes, why can't I drag it?!"

It is very difficult to work out the motion of assemblies if I can't drag parts.

It is also very hard to determine if the assembly is constrained properly.

Please fix this soon!

I can't figure out how this gets released like this.

Agreed, perhaps if it's not fixed soon they should dissuade people from switching to 2023 until it is, this is a major disruption to my work flow.

If anyone would like to relieve the frustrations due to this issue, we have just provided a Beta1 build for the 2023.0.1 update on the Inventor Feedback Community. Hopefully this will address the problem.

If you do not already have Beta access then you can apply using this link - http://Autode.sk/InventorBeta

Many Thanks,
Chris

Just updated to Inventor 2023, it still exhibits this behavior. The exe file is dated 03-11-2022. What is the situation, is there a patch file or update available yet?

Hi Carl,

Please install 2023.1 followed by 2023.1.1. The issue will be resolved.

Many thanks!
