Part Creation mode

In the IAM file part creation mode, I got an original part of the shadow view. But in the video it is not the case. What is the reason?

Hi fiatnm,

The user in the video has an option set differently than you. I prefer it set the way that you have it set, but some like as in the video.

To set this you can go to the Tools tab > Application Options button > Assembly tab > Component Opacity

I hope this helps.

Problem is if you want to sketch a new part, you should be able to see the original part clearly. I don’t know why shadow part option is there.

Hi fiatnm,

Often it's helpful to be able to see through exterior parts, while we create internal parts. This option allows use to see through those exterior parts, but still reference the exterior parts.

Some users prefer not to use it. If that's your preference you can do so, it won't hurt anything.

I hope this helps.
