I am trying to figure out BOM's and Frame Generator myself, so please keep that in mind.
I generated a frame assembly and set up the BOM. I was able to do just about everything I wanted except for this:
The frame is not large, so I have the assembly and components on one sheet. I have to cut slots and holes in one of the parts. I want to show that part as a separate view with just that part. Easy as pie: I inserted a base view of the part.
Now I want to show the BOM balloon for that part in that view label. Or at least near it. I cannot seem to associate the balloon with the table and put it wherever I want. Everything is on the same sheet.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi ronald_plesh,
The part doesn't know about the assembly BOM so that approach won't work.
My recommendation is as described here:

See this idea post for an idea to make this just built right into the Frame Generator assemblies:
I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

Aha, the age old problem. As Curtis says by placing the part directly it does not know about the frame bom. There are several approaches to this problem of which we employ neither of those recommended by Curtis.
We simply place a view of the frame then turn off the visibility of every 'other' member. Leaving only the one we want to balloon. Naturally this can be a pain so we use a macro. Also by frame I'm referring to the parent and not the child frame.iam that is created by FG.
We we don't create reps or lods in the model as it's just too time consuming.
An an additional alternative is to consider this.

Thanks. I will try out the macro in your link.
