Part/assembly appearance lost in assembly

Hello Everybody,

I recently got an issue I can't seem to resolve:

Some parts in an assembly lose their appearance (surface applied)?

For example I downloaded a siemens PLC from the siemens website which was already colored. I loaded it in a assembly and it looked normally. I don't know what I did but it suddenly lost its appearance?

When I copy paste the part the appearance loads in normally.

Also when I open the part it also looks fine.

This happens when I load in parts and assemblies.

I already checked Representation and nothing works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Attach example file(s) here.

Assembly level appearances override part level appearances.

I have some features on assembly level, when I delete the hole functions the appearance returns..?

So removing participant seems to fix the problem. Why is this connected to the appearance?
