Over Constrained in dynamic simulation

I am using a DS in my assembly. However after I added in the constrain, in DS. there is over constrain error. I know the problem is because of mate:10 constrain in Connecting_Rod:1 and mate:9 constrain in Connecting_Rod:2. However these two constrains are must in order to connect both Connecting_Rod:2 and Connecting_Rod:2 to Swivel_Link.

May I know what shall I do? Please see the screenshot. The standard joints cylindrical:4 and cylindrical:6 are redundant

joints.

I attached the assemble file here.

Hi Lisa,

This is an interesting case, tried several ways and the error still appears. will forward to project team to understand it better.

Thanks

I noticed that you change YZ plan of the part ISO 2338 8 m6 x 20.ipt from end to the center. But I still use the original content center part.

I amended my constraints at this two joints the same as yours except I match the XY plan of part Connecting_Rod:2.ipt and Connecting_Rod:1.ipt to part ISO 2338 8 m6 x 20.ipt and offset 10mm. The problems still exist.

Another problem is why part ISO 2338 8 m6 x 20:2.ipt is inside the Welded group:1 and ISO 2338 8 m6 x 20:1.ipt is inside the Welded group:2. I used the same constrains to constrain them to Connecting_Rod:1.ipt and Connecting_Rod:2.ipt.

I attached my amended file (with adding more parts) here.

Hi Lisa,

I think, it's good, creating sub-assys as much as possible in motion studies. Life will become easier.

New 2018 fileset in attachment.

Smiley Wink But now weather is fine. Time for a break. I'll come back later, if it's still needed.

Now a new fileset. I didn't spend any time with DS, but only animated it in assembly. Move it with constraint Driveme

You can see the problem: The system can only move, if the blue part can slide along it's axis.

This is not good in reality, but I think, some changes in parts geometry would eliminate that need.

Some time later: Have a look at the bearing near the small bevel gear. An additional distance ring is needed for axial fixing. And bearing situation between base and swivel link is rather short
