On an arbitrary diagonal plane

I just started learning Inventor last week, so I'm extremely ignorant here.

How can I make holes, revolve, etc. on a diagonal plane? e.g. on a line that intersects both the XY and YZ sketchplanes at the same time?

Say I have a sphere, how can I do whatever I want to any point on its surface? This is so easy in Maya.

Yes, first you need to create the workplane.

For example - on th sphere line and then workpoint at intersection of line and sphere.
Then workplane at intersection of sphere and workpoint.

Attach file here if you have trouble figuring it out.

I'm not understanding it at all.

I've read some short tutorials on work planes and work points, and created both. But I don't understand what they do.

I haven't been able to make a diagonal workplane that isn't perpendicular to my 2D sketch, and the diagonals that I have created were accidental. I don't know why they were made, and it's hit and miss making new ones.

I feel like a monkey whacking buttons at CERN.

Planes visible XY and YZ.

Sketched line on XZ plane (not visible for clarity) dimension to desired angle.

Create workplane perpendicular to this line by selecting line and endpoint of line.

Create centerpoint at desired locatioin for hole.
