New/Custom Tab in the Ribbon

Hi guys,

There this issue that probably nonexistent for experienced users, but this drives me nuts..

I managed to write a few macros, and in SW for example I had a separate Ribbon Tab called "Macros", where I collected and organized them.

I spent quite a lot of time trying to figure out how to add a new tab in the Inventor??

RibbonTab.PNG

There is no any "Add New Tab.." or "Custom Tab.." in the Customize menu:

What am I doing wrong??

I mean , this is a pretty basic functionality with a predictable demand..

Are you talking about iLogic macros?

Because under the manage tab there is the iLogic browser that allows you to list the routines you create and you can add this as a tab in the browser.

No, not really..

I am not familiar with the iLogic yet, but to get things done the way I am used to, I am using the macros.

But macros were just for an example, let's say I want to organize some commands and group them together, under new tab. How do I do that?

I think there is a User Panel/Tab/Ribbon.

You can drag and drop commands to any ribbon/

Thank you,

cannot see the solution there...

The only access to this functionality is through "ribbon.ribbontabs" property?

Yes..

There is not a simple (through the gui via a simple add tab button or something that a non-programmer could do) option to add a new tab.. I think thats what you are really asking here..

The only way to add tabs is via programming/scripting using RibbonTabs.add method,etc....
