Greetings,
Working with the nesting utility, I generate a nest and sometimes the nest leaves some parts out of the general nesting and I see in the report at the bottom some text that says: "Parts left information" and shows me some parts that aren't in the nesting. Why those parts are not in the nesting if the parts have the dimensions to fit in the nest and why there aren't notifications for parts left out of the nesting?

Bob is correct, this is not data specified.
I could reproduce it finally on DEU OS with DEU INV installed.
@javizloco Is your INV installed with (Spanish INV + ENU LP)? thanks for your kindly respond.
I tried on the configuration English OS (win10) English Inventor, Spanish OS (Win7) English Inventor, and Spanish OS (Win7) Spanish Inventor, and in every config I get black report.
We tracked down the problem on the empty nesting report.
The problem is caused by the use of the comma (",") as the decimal separator, possibly also other separators different from a dot.
If you set the decimal separator to a dot (".") in the regional settings in Control Panel and restart Inventor, the report works fine. See also attached image. This can be used as a temporary workaround while we work on a hotfix for this.
Changing the separator will of course affect other programs like Excel. So use it with caution and only as a temporary stop gap measure.
Thanks
Bob
@javizloco Nesting Utility 2019.2.1 Update is just released with Report shows black issue fixed. Please have a try when you got a chance. let me know if you have any problem. thanks for your patience.
@javizloco Thanks for quick respond.
I could reproduce this issue if changing Region settings(Decimal symbol use "," and Digit grouping symbol use "."
please try to change "," to "." and change "." to "," for them, and have a try. we logged ticket TRUNINV-1466 and will update you ASAP. thanks
Nesting Utility 2019.3 Update is available, and the Charts images show empty is resolved on this release. welcome to have a try when you get a chance.
Greetings,
I installed the update but now when i try to open the report, Inventor crashes. I tried with assemblies and DXF, unistalling and reinstalling Inventor and Nesting Utility but always crashes. Windows 10, Inventor 2019.3, Nesting Utility 2019.3
I have the same result. Importing sources works fine, the nest creation is fine, however trying to open the report results in Inventor closing out immediately and there's no CER dialog popping up.
Inventor 2019.3
Nesting Utility 2019.3
Windows 10 64 bit 1809
@javizloco and @Dave_Lapthorne,
This issue is definitely on our radar, and we're working on a fix that will hopefully be included in a hotfix very soon. At the moment, there is no known workaround other than downgrading to the 2019.2 update for the Nesting Utility. If I learn of a better workaround, I'll post one here.
All,
We have identified the problem and the solution and are working on a hotfix right now to get it to you. In the meantime, the workaround is one of the following:
The problem here is that these two addins share some common libraries that are conflicting. The solution is to either not use them together or use a version of one or the other that does not have the conflicting library (the downgrade). In your case, the best bet may be to downgrade HSM since you may not need features added in the 2019.3 release, but you could probably use changes in Nesting Utility 2019.3.
Nesting Utility 2019.3.1 HotFix is released, and the crash issue when clicking Report is resolved in the build. please have a try when you get a chance. let me know if any problem.
thanks,
Amy
@javizloco thanks for your feedback, and sorry for the inconvenience, if you mean the issue of "HTML report shows empty with black background", yes, I could reproduce it. and have asked engineer team to investigate the problem, will keep you updated.
and for a temp workaround, you could try to use the settings Bob mentioned in previous post:
If you set the decimal separator to a dot (".") in the regional settings in Control Panel and restart Inventor, the report works fine. See also attached image.
@javizloco sorry for the inconvenient, how's status after clicking YES in the pop up "Material mapping"dialog?
thanks,
Amy
@javizloco I don't see this in my 2021 version. is it possible to share your data with us?
it's for specified data, or all data you used?
