Nesting 2022 - Stop parts nesting inside each other.

Is there a way to stop parts nesting inside each other?

We use a lot of mesh panelling, that we don't model fully, do to the extreme number of faces it creates and just causes massive performance issues. But this leaves large 'Open' spaces in the middle of the panels, so when it comes to nesting them it puts them all inside each other.

Is there a way to prevent this?

Thanks,

Create a sketch for your outer border, or whatever shape you want to use for nesting, then use nest authoring to select that sketch for nesting.  See Help | To Adjust Sketch and Extrusion Properties | Autodesk

If you use DXF export of the sheet it will only show the shape you defined, same for the create 3d model as multi-body part.
You should use create 3d model as assembly file and that will give you an assembly of the parts, with the holes, arranged as in the nest. From there you can use CAM as usual.
