Here is the attached part.  Also I will need to patch the openeings for the bolt. Hopefully there is a better way to do this.  Using Inventor 2013

Thanks

Hi!

As long as this part is a multisolid part, you have to choose all the solids you need to be cut by the extrude.

Also you need to clean some remaining solids after the extrude.

Since i don't have 2013 version installed, i'm sending you a step file for you to check.

I guess i would do this part a little different... but... it works also like that.

Here is a bit simpler version of the part you are after. Please see the attached file, IV2010 format. Still, I see the same problem you have got. The last array doesn't remove some portion of the model.

The part is an iPart. Part1-01 exhibits the behavior you have described. Part1-02 shows some workaround to the problem.

I wonder if on latest version of IV this problem is resolved.

Cheers,

Igor.

I appreciate all your help.  It turned out that this method was not good enough.  I need to try and create a golf ball in Inventor 2013.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Ye those extrusions where made, then I used the patch command.  The main problem is creating the circular cutouts, then the circular half fill and making them pattern randomly (i.e golf ball), so this is an iteration of a bunch of unsuccessful attempts.  I attached a screen capture.  You will see those areas are designed for bolt tightening access.

Thanks

Boundary patch for the cutouts is no good. IMO this is better (2016 file)

I like the style you used, but it needs to have a random pattern like a golfball.  This pattern is to even

Ye I need to make it more like a golf ball, or use a different method.  This pattern doesnt work.  It really is there to show what I am trying to do with the sphere.

Thanks

Ok, make a new approach. It's not too difficult.
