I don't think this is the right email, but need help finding the correct person to contact. We have a serial number for a student version of inventor. We have tried countless ways, including getting help from an IT professional to download the software. It continues to be stopped mid download via countless measures of getting the computer to comply.
We were told by the IT guy to request a zip drive with inventor on it, because we are not able to get the downloadable software on to the computer. Please help me get directed to the right person.
Thank you,

Have your IT person download it and install it...
Not trying to be smart ..
I would recommend using the Virtual Agent, it will download the 3 files needed
There isn't a zip, I believe you can go into your Account manager and request a hardcopy for a paid version, not a trial or student I believe

Make sure to get all 3 files from the Autodesk Virtual Agent.
I did make sure to download all three versions from the VA. It looks like it downloads and then gives me a cancel screen when I click on the download manager.
If that doesn't work, then use the "Browser" option. You will still get the same three install files that JD showed in his post. It may take a bit longer but I've never had a problem downloading Inventor this way. If that doesn't work, then you should look at your WiFi and ISP to solve your connection problems. I would make sure that your Temp and Cache folders have been purged along with your IE history.

1. It gets through downloading and then cancels.
2. It seems to download and then when it gets into the middle of the installation it says common~1.cab is corrupt..
1. Post screen shot of 003_003, including file size in image. This is the smallest file, if you can't download this....
Post screen shot of 002_003, and 001_003 including file size in image. These two are larger compressed files.
2. I don't know what this means? I am trying to help you create an install disk, not ready to install the software yet.
I have not given any instructions on installing any software.
The instructions I have given do not install any software - merely a download of 3 files, just like downloading 3 picture files.
Follow my instructions and we will get this figured out.

Three versions?
Download Manager?

Forget about installation for now - you shouldn't be installing anything.
Your first goal should be merely to download file 003_003 and post screen capture that you were successful.
Downloading file 003_003 does not install anything.
Downloading what?

What browser are using to Reply to this thread?
Are you familiar with the Windows Snipping tool?
I am willing to follow your instructions. Please be patient with me as I figure this out.
OK, click Cancel, and all is well.
Back in a minute with next instruction.
It is a good thing that you finally attached that image - you are doing a lot of extra work.
Delete all of the files that end with (1) or (2), these are duplicates that you do not need.
Make a folder named Autodesk Zips at the root of c:\
(nothing special about this - just my personal preference in file management)
Move the 3 files from your Downloads into this folder.
You never need to download 2017 again.
If you have a large enough USB stick or drive - you might want to back-up this folder (you can delete it from C when we are finished).

I have already used ...
Windows 10 Build 14936 from Insider Program
which my IT friend said is not our problem because ours will not install...
Now comes the hard part - cleaning up anything you might have already done that could be a roadblock.
The already done stuff bothers me... hopefully it does not get in the way.
Q1. What version of Windows do you have?
If you are using Windows 10 - ask Cortana System Information
and post screen shot
I am not ready for you to start the installation process as indicated by Blair below - don't double click on 001 just yet.
To add to JD's post, you need to "double click" on the 001 file. This will start the extraction process which will then create a folder (Autodesk) on your hard drive and should then start the installation process.
If the installation doesn't automatically start you will need to navigate to the (Autodesk) folder on your computer and double click on the "setup.exe" file.
Have you set UAC to lowest setting?
Type UAC in Cortana if you are not sure.
If you had not already done that - then Reboot the computer after changing.
