Moving parts in assembly by suppressing mates

I am trying to move parts in an assembly where I have suppressed all the mates related to that part and made sure that its not grounded and not adaptive. I am unable to drag some parts but able to drag and move all other parts. Is this Inventor bug? or workflow?

I see you are zoomed into a sub assembly of the top assembly correct?

Are you editing that subassembly in place?

You can only drag/move/solve components in your active edit target assembly (which appears to be the top)?

Also you can't drag component pattern instances other than the original ones you patterned. The component pattern is sort of like a constraint in that regard. THe pattern fully positions the "output" instances of the component pattern.

Can you share the data set with specifics of what you are expecting to drag?

Thank you for sharing this. No i am not editing subassembly in place. I was trying to drag the red doors (whole subassembly). I can drag the blue door (subassembly) which does not have any pattern in it.

Hi @harshkumar_patelJY9BZ.  I have seen cases where not all assembly constraints that are currently affecting or involving a specific assembly component occurrence are listed in the model browser tree under that occurrence's browser node.  I actually created a post within the Inventor Ideas forum about that exact scenario (Link Below).  In the situation I described in that Idea post, the middle occurrence is constrained two the other two occurrences, but there is no assembly constraint node under that middle occurrence to indicate that.  So, if you want to make sure all assembly constraints for all components are suppressed...manually you can expand the folder named 'Relationships' near the top of the model browser tree, then select and suppress all constraints ; or by code, iterate through every assembly constraint and suppress them.  If they are already truly all suppressed, yet you are still unable to drag some occurrences then I would have to ask about some other things.  Were those occurrences created by (or members of) some sort of assembly level pattern or mirror feature?  Do you have the 'Defer Update' setting turned on or off?  Which version/year of Inventor are you using?
