Circular Pattern Axis Inaccessible After Mirror Pattern

I encountered an issue with the Mirror Pattern feature. I'm on Inventor Professional 2026.3

When mirroring an assembly/part together with a Circular Pattern, where the Circular Pattern has its Direction Axis defined using an axis from the assembly/part being mirrored, I cannot redefine or change the axis afterward because the original assembly/part is invisible/hidden.

In the example below, the bearing unit and the bolted connections are mirrored to the other side of the shaft. When I replaced the bearing unit with another part, the Circular Pattern of the bolted connections lost its Direction Axis reference.

When I try to edit the Circular Pattern and select another circular face from the new bearing unit, I cannot select it because the original bearing unit is hidden.

The current workaround is to delete the Mirror Pattern, redefine the Direction Axis, and then create the Mirror Pattern again, which is not ideal.

Is there a way to redefine the Direction Axis without deleting and recreating the Mirror Pattern?

Is this a known limitation, or is a fix planned for a future Inventor update?

(Personally, I'd mirror one bolt-washer-etc. and then do the circular pattern, but I don't know if that would work any better.)

@johnsonshiue I've sent you a random assembly, thanks for taking a look.

@dan_inv09 Yeah, if I would make two separate mirror patterns, one for the bearing and another for the bolted connection, it would work, but having it as one mirror pattern, doesn't. The problem is that I have a lot of older assemblies from before mirrored patterns were introduced, where the circular patterns already exist. Whenever I use one of these older assemblies as a reference for creating something new, I have to delete the circular pattern, mirror it, and then recreate the circular pattern. It would work, but it feels unnecessary.

Hi! Nejc did send the files to me. I can confirm the behavior. The preview is not working correctly. This is a bug. I am working with the project team to understand the issue better.

The project team has confirmed that this is a defect. It has been reported as INVGEN-94597. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon.
