Move Custom CC library from local to network

Hello,

I had some time experimenting with setting up a Custom CC parts library. I did it local: Inventor Destop Content = C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor 2018\Content Center Libraries\

I now want to move it to a network location to let other people use it. What I did so far:

- copying the IDCL file to a network location

- renaming the local one (so it isn't accessible anymore)

- Changed the path in Inventors Application Options: Inventor Desktop Content - Location Of libraries = "New network path"

Altough if I open an assembly with custom CC parts created with the local setup, Inventor gives errors when trying the change size of those parts. Am I missing something?

Hello @Anonymous,

Go to project setting and make sure the location of CC is set correctly.

Make sure you have close Inventor and restart the session.

Hope it helps!

isn't that the place to enter the path where the CC parts are eventually stored when created? Not for the CC database itself?

it does work now, altough I am just a bit confused.

Hello @Anonymous,

In fact, the location do have the seek sequence, the primary location is set in project setting and then application option which is similar as the sort order.

Hope it helps!
