Hey people of Inventor...

Would it be possible to get a little bit more information on some faults in the model browser?

khendrickx_1-1736783548023.png

In this case there seems to be a warning regarding the parts list... but no further information at all.

Hoovering the symbol does nothing, right clicking the parts list causes Inventor to CTD, even saving the document sometimes causes it to CTD, so at least I'd like to know WHY it's doing that.

Please provide some more detailed information what the fault actually is.

Hi! I guess the ParstList is corrupted. Have you tried copying the sheet from this drawing to a new drawing? What about deleting the PartsList?

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

Yeah deleting and replacing the parts list was pretty much the only thing that helped, but wasn't fun doing it on a 20 page drawing containing a lot of these corrupted partlists. Copying it didn't help.

The fault occured after doing a "replace model reference" with a new assembly which was copied from the original. Usually this works fine, but in this case it gave an error, but as said, it would be convenient to know what's wrong with it so we can try solving it instead of deleting it and replacing it.

Same goes for the blue exclamation marks on sketches in parts, but at least here you get the design doctor to give you a bit more information.

Hi! I suspect the workflow leading to such corruption used to crash. Now the exception is handled but the corruption persists. I suggest you recreate the PartsList. I don't see an easy way to salvage the corrupted data. If you know how to reproduce the corruption, please let us know.

Many thanks!
