Modelling wire wrapped around a rod (assembled at the base)

Hi,

I am still new to Inventor and therefore struggling to find a way to model the assembly, similar to the one depicted in the figure below;

I have attached the rod and the base, however I am not sure how to tie them with the wire. The top view of the wire being tied with rod is shown in (a) while the whole assembly is shown in (b).

I'd appreciate if someone can advice me how to model the tie (in the assembly) with the steps.

This is not a beginner endeavor.

The Attached files might give you some ideas to get started (you will also use Coil).

Basically it involves getting a 3D Sketch Sweep Path.

I see 5 helical coils connected together with splines.
