Modeling Paper Clip Coil Inventor 2016

Hi, I am trying to draw the attached part in autodesk inventor 2016 and cannot seem to be able to draw/extrude.  Can someone help me out in getting this part drawn.

If you're working in Inventor, you are not drawing this part; that's a 2d concept.  And extrusion will not be very useful to create this model.

Are you trying to model it in its free (unloaded) form as you show in the photo?  Or compressed into some kind of mechanism?

In any case, there are different ways to approach this.  One way is to create a coil for the center section, then sweep the extensions.  But as @JDMather suggested, start by attaching what you've already tried.
