I feel like so much processing time is spent when you Suppress/Unsupress components, that I'm spending more time waiting for the computer to react than the benefit I was seeing when using Model States at the assembly level. (Also, the fact that there is no "Unsuppress ALL" command doesn't help either-yes, I know there's other threads about that one). Is anybody else experiencing this? I feel like I might just use ViewReps (Visiblity) at the assembly level instead of Model States.

Depends on what you need to do.
I only suppress parts for BOM.
I'm building cabinets with different options.
Different parts and sub-assemblies are suppressed and moved.
Switching between Model State with suppression is fast.
If I need to hide parts in drawing, I use view rep.
If I need to show open doors, I use Pos Rep.
Never liked or used LoD.
Thank you for that. And yes, within the .iam, it's fast; but when going back-and-forth between .iam and the drawing is where the slowdown occurs (different sheets showing different model states). For example: make a change/check the drawing multiple times.
I think IV still have problem using different ModelState at the same time.
I have model property (flat extend) not updating in drawing if I have the model opened.
Maybe Model State is not the best process for your work flow.
Make sure you work on correct View Rep.
Remember it doesn't remember suppression. Only Visible and appearance.
My template has 2 View Rep: Default and Design.
When I'm working in the model, I use Design. So turning parts, sketch, planes on and off won't affect the drawing.
Visibility of the 3 major planes don't follow View Rep.
Hi! If you used to create LODs and had design process leveraging LOD workflows, Design View Rep is fairly close to LOD in terms of the behaviors and the results.
Many thanks!
