Model state model reference and user parameters wont show up in the model state spreadsheet

Hello,

JBercsik_4-1641931409633.png

The two parameters in the cloud will not evaluate.  I just get  this "Detected potentially damaging errors in the table"

This worked fine with the iPart and iAssembly method.   Is there some special Autodesk method to get it to work in the Model State environment?

Thanks!

It looks like there are columns in the table for those two parameters, but Inventor is not allowed to change them. Try using the "edit via spreadsheet" command and delete the columns that correspond to those parameters.

Thank you for your reply.  What I'm really trying to do is put a reference of dimension (of some sorts) in the model so that I can use the parameter/value to populate a column in a general table on the drawing.  It was doable with iParts and iAssemblies, but doesn't seem possible with Model States.

Maybe @johnsonshiue can verify this?

Hi Folks,

The parameters of interest here are Reference Parameters and Linked Parameters. By default, the value of these parameters is driven by something outside of the table. You can force it by adding the column to the table. But, I don't think that is the right approach. When using iPart, iAssembly, and Model States, the variations should be captured by the table, not changeable by other means.

Could you elaborate the need to drive Reference Parameters and Linked Parameters from the table?

Many thanks!

Hello Johnson!

I am trying to do the same thing. I would like to put the center distance dimension (among other dimensions I'd like to reference) in a table for a customer to reference. But they are not appearing in the column chooser. Is there a way for this dimension to be captured in the column chooser?

Thank you!

Hi! I could be wrong but I am not aware of a workflow here. The issue is that Author table (iPart/iAssembly/Model State) is supposed to drive changes. Putting a driven parameter or property on the table does not make sense. The particular refence parameter in the attached image is already exported as a Custom iProperty. The value will update depending on the member or active Model State.

Many thanks!
