Missing XML files

I have Inventor 2015 on my laptop and have to work on a project for my engineering class.  I need threads in a hole and I get the message that it's missing the XML files.  I also get this when Inventor starts up:

Cannot open XML file: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Design Data\Dimension.xml

Cannot open XML file: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Design Data\HoleTable.xml

Cannot open XML file: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Design Data\ObjectDefaults.xml

Cannot open XML file: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Design Data\PartsList.xml

Cannot open XML file: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Design Data\Standard.xml

Another problem is I am missing the home screen that I am used to with the same version at my school.  Luckley this is minor because I have all of my files well sorted per project.

If it helps any I have a Toshiba Satellite S55 - A5295 with Windows 10.  (Another words it is capable of running Inventor and I have had it working properly before.)

Can you verify that the files are actually in the location

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2015\Design Data\

That's the first thing that I would verify.  Next check and see if you have different project files and see if you can find a set of design data that works.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Hope this helps and have a most blessed day!

Peace,
Pete

...also - do you have Microsoft Excel installed on this machine and have you installed the Service Packs and Updates for 2015?

yep.. sounds like the project file is simply setup incorrectly and isn't pointing to the proper location to find those files..

So either copy the files into that location or adjust the project file settings.

Yes I have Microsoft Excel and I had just installed the service pack 2 and update 4 for the service pack 2 before posting this.  I guess I sould have said that.  The only file in the location is a file named "clearance" which is an excel file.  Maybe It needs to be just "Documents"and not "Public Documents".  I don't know, because everything else is working.  I guess for now I will skip adding the holes.

Also, do I need service pack 1 if I have the service pack 2?

No.  Service Packs are cumulative and include all previous Service Packs and Updates.

Seems like those files were either deleted, not installed or whatever..

I'd either just do a repair install and hope that puts them back or just copy the needed files from the school computer and paste them back onto your computer in the location shown in the error..
