Missing iProperties on Right Click Menu

MattH_Work

Windows 7, Inventor 2017 (RTM, R2 & R3, all patches)

I am missing the iProperties options on my right click menu in Windows explorer (left hand view in attached image), but they are there when RMB on a file in Inventor (right hand view in attached)

Windows 10 has the expected right click menu options

Is this a known issue with Windows 7?

Any advice in fixing it?

Regards

MattH

Try the Inventor Reset Utility

It's not a known issue ...I've using Explorer and Iproperties in Win7 and XP  ..

Make sure everything is updated ...

Also I would maybe try setting the Open With option for the Inventor Files ...

I don't think the reset will help you ..but if you do it, save your application options (export it out) so you don't have to redo any settings.

Brand new SSD. Just installed, no iProps menu from the very begining. In effect, nothing to reset. Had same issue on a number of laptops.

Previously tried, reset utility, reinstall etc

Never had a problem with 2016, 2015 etc. Just 2017

If seen this more than once on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

It must have something to do with the registration of Inventor.

Turn UAC Off

Select your Inventor shortcut and try to run it as an Administrator.

Hope this help Smiley Happy

All the golden rules (UAC off, Antivirus off, Admin user) followed for the install, run as admin tried. All failed

I'm having the same issue. On top of it, thumbnails are also no longer shown. All was working fine before I installed and uninstalled inventor view 2017 and 2014 (for reasons I will not go into here). I've re-installed inventor 2017 and inventor view 2017 but it didn't fix the issue.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this?

For some reason I thought you weren't supposed to install Inventor Viewer on the same computer with Inventor..

mcgyvr, I understand that, but we use ESPRIT CAM software, and it requires the installation of inventor view so we can merge inventor files directly into it.

Anyhow, I've just figured out the solution. While installing an add-on to ESPRIT, I had also disabled the UAC in the windows registry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\eNABLElua". Just now, I re-enabled it and it all went back to normal. Thumbnails are being displayed properly and browser iproperties now show on right mouse click. I had no idea that disabling the UAC would cause this issue.

This worked!!!

I ran regedit and drilled down thru the address given, selected EnableLUA and modified its value data from 0 to 1.  Next, I did a restart and all back to normal.

I too had this annoying issue - Right click menu - no file previews , thumbnails (iproperties), no (pack'n'go) no (Design assistant).

windows 10 ect...

I persevered with suggestion above an it worked.

changed- enableLUA - settings.

My setting was:

-(enableLUA) = 1

changed from 1 to 0 - restarted...

tested Right click menu - Still no effect.

Changed from 0 to 1 - restarted - again.

and fixed the problem.
